The cool part is the Biplanes you see are called Swordfish. Outdated and slow planes, when attacking the Bismarck, the ship couldn’t knock all of them out of the sky since the crew were expecting faster quick planes.

The torpedo bombers are really significant to the story of the Bismark as they were the ones that disabled the rudder of the Bismark, causing it to get stuck in a strafing position causing it to turn away from occupied France leading to its eventual demise

Getting that Emergency order must have felt like being order hunt a giant dragon with bows and arrows. One lucky torpedo damaged the Bismarck, slowing it down and make it easier to track and eventually sink after hammering it with more planes and multiple ships. Absolute terror and anxiety.

To explain David mitton worked on a series called “thunderbirds” in the 60s David mitton was the director of the original series of Thomas the tank engine and friends from season 1 (1984) to season 7 (2003) Unfortunately he sadly passed away in 2008 and his work on Thomas will be remembered

what made the Bismarck famous was the fear she caused n the effort put into sinking her based on the treaties set after would ww1 n the position of Brittan when it was deployed. after ww1 the nation set limitations on thier military to prevent an arms-race, however in the 1930s some nation including Germany stated going going against them, the Bismarck and her sister ship the Tirpitz were among them, while counties like Brittan n France were still were, meaning Germany had the more powerful ships. fast-forward to may 1941 Germany managed to advance to the English channel leaving Brittan alone n relying on surplices from the u.s. witch they had to protect them selves from Germanys smaller ships n subs. not wanting these 2 ships out in the open to make thing more difficult they hunted the Bismarck down for over a week when she deployed just to protect the supply convoys. as for Tirpitz she was kept in Norway until November 1944 when the r.a.f. managed to bomb n sink her. on side note despite being pound by 4 British ships for 2 hour her cause of sinking was scuttling by her own crew.

Yes, it was indeed a compass, and I believe that the scratching was the location of the ship when it went down. The captain of their "rock boat" was the son of the last surviving sailor of the Bismarck, who passed away a month or so before this video was made.

Sabaton tries to inspire people to learn about history. They have a history channel on which they post videos which provide more background. Starting at 6:04, Sabaton reveals that the lyrics are ironic. The Bismarck failed to accomplish its mission, and in fact was a waste of money, and of lives. (More than 2,000 men died when the ship went down.) The decision to construct the Bismarck was one of the early indications that Hitler was incompetent.

To be clear, the reason why Tug carries such a disdain for Edward being written off the show is not so much because it happened, but because of how unceremonious and insultingly it was handled.
